It is a stunning and starkly beautiful place - one of my favorite national parks to visit.
It's not very picturesque, but is good for hiking and climbing though.
I guess it depends on what you find picturesque. I find Big Bend extremely picturesque. Perhaps these pictures do not do it justice.

It has mountains, desert, wetlands, and, of course, a river runs through it. It is breathtaking and if you get the chance, by all means, go!
Oh, fabulous! Some of those shots almost had me back in Australia.
There are similarities, aren't there? Mainly the big rocks and stark landscapes. No kangaroos though.
