I find that quite often the political cartoonists are able to explain issues more explicitly and succinctly than the most eloquent pundits can. Here are some of the cartoons that I have collected recently that spoke to me of perhaps the most urgent issue facing the country today.
Cartoonists are brilliant and as you say are able to capture the moment in so effective a manner.

Now ordinary citizens, risking a government with facial recognition software and more, have joined this rank. Even five year olds wearing bunny hats....

DeleteCartoonists are so skilled at emphasising the salient points. Some cartoons carry so much detail, too. Political cartoonists are a necessity in a democracy.
