Our current situation

Political cartoonists are very adept at making their point with a few strokes of a pen, and of course they have a rich trove to draw from (literally) in our current situation. Here are a couple that I thought hit their mark pretty squarely in the last week.

  1. To the first photo, we (sadly) may need to add The United States Constitution, the way we are going. And also the penny, which ceased production today, but that's minor compared to everything else happening.

  2. I’m watching from very far away and am appalled. At the mayhem and sadness created.

    1. It is indeed appalling and, of course, it affects the rest of the world in addition to our country.

  3. I know the situation is very far from amusing but the second cartoon really made me chuckle. What a buffoon he is.

  4. It's depressing!! I told my husband at the start of 2024 that if Trump was elected for a second term, I'd love to move to another country to avoid the dismantling of our democracy. Unfortunately, we are not of retirement age and do not have access to retirement accounts for a few years, nor access to Medicare quite yet. So, are working until them to keep funding our retirement accounts, savings, etc.

    1. Let us hope that by the time you are ready to retire the situation will have changed for the better and we can see some light at the end of the tunnel.

  5. The cartoonists these days are really putting things into perspective well ... they need to be front and center.
