Succinctly stated

I find it quite ironic that the people who seem most offended by African-Americans protesting the unlawful killing of unarmed black men by trigger-happy police are some of the same people who proudly display their Confederate flags and who delight in posting on social media the most hateful racist rhetoric concerning our president and his family. And yet they will tell you that they are the patriots and anyone who protests by refusing to stand for the national anthem is unAmerican at best, and at worst should be stood up against a wall and shot. I thought Bors' cartoon expressed all of that pretty succinctly.

  1. But Dorothy, didn't you know that killing and violence solves problems?

    1. Some people apparently think so. And a happy New Moon to you, too.

  2. Hi, Dorothy, it is very sad the current state of affairs with all the racial violence. I did read something recently that some forces in the background are interested in escalating the racial and other unrest, I wish I could remember where I saw that, and use the media a lot to that end. Some policemen try really hard to make a difference, I find that heart-warming. I guess I blame the ultra rich and powerful people that are alleged to want the poor to remain poor and also to kill off a lot of the population of the earth. I know the book of Revelation tells of all the bad stuff that human beings will cause- floods, global warming, earth becoming nearly uninhabitable, holes in the ozone layer, plagues, famines, wars- that will happen before the return of Jesus and the establishment (finally) of a peaceful and glorious state for 1000 years. That is my future hope.

    1. Those policemen/women who do try to do their jobs of preserving and protecting are certainly to be commended. Unfortunately, there are too many of the other kind who tend to give them all a bad name. And, yes there are people who try to foment violence and who benefit from it. What we as ordinary citizens can do is to try to nurture a society where that doesn't work.
