As a lover of cats, Shakespeare, and ballet, this news story from Turkey is a winner for me. It was definitely a needed counterpoint to most of the news of the world of the day. And perhaps it was a reminder that if all the world is a stage then cats are going to play their part regardless of who is watching. For that their many fans are grateful. And may their non-fans be tolerant of it all!
Thanks for sharing the kitty's stage debut. If the actress hadn't pulled Romeo away, I think the kitty would've risen Romeo from the dead with an all-out attack. Lol.
ReplyDeleteI suspect you are right!
DeleteThat is a wonderful story. Sadly, I couldn't play the video clip, but hats off to the dancers for thinking on their feet (!!)
ReplyDeleteSorry you couldn't see the video I posted but, if you are interested, you can likely find it on the internet in a version you can see.
DeleteKudos to the actress for her quick thinking. It was funny to see but maybe not so funny for the Romeo.
ReplyDeleteSince that cat just ruined his big scene, I'm betting he was not best pleased!
DeleteI also love ❤️ cats and was absolutely thrilled to see this feline's stage debut. My last cat who passed away over 2 years ago...he was a tuxedo cat named Romeo.
ReplyDeleteI've lived with cats all my life. Only for a few months after the death of a particular pet have I actually been without one. Those were lonely times.
DeleteHi Dorothy, same here! I will be 70 in October, so this time I decided to get a bird...a zebra finch. Male, beautiful song, chirps, and he has black cheeks. Usually they have orange cheeks, but this one is different.
DeleteI have also had cats a huge part of my life. I absolutely love them. What changed this time is that the veterinary costs have sadly skyrocketed over the years. I have had my zebra finch for two years and he brings me much joy.
I, too, had a zebra finch years ago. They are lovely birds.
DeleteCats are lovely animals and I have stroked and cuddled many a one, but when they are allowed to roam free and mercilessly decimate songbirds and other native fauna my tolerance for them plummets rapidly. My tolerance for their human guardians even more!
