 My blog has recently been under attack by some unknown entity that has been attempting to use the comment section to pass along information to some other entity. Consequently, I have been forced to activate comment moderation. Please be assured that any legitimate comment will be approved and published as soon as I can get to it. I love your comments and look forward to reading them.

    Moderation is a good idea, I think, even if you (or Blogger) can get to the bottom of this particular attack. Blogger does not have good tools to deal with this kind of thing. I hope it doesn't prevent you from continuing to blog.

      No, it won't. I just resent the inconvenience to my loyal readers who take the time to comment and then have to wait to see that comment published.

    That's very frustrating. I moved over to Disqus because I liked having the ability to easily have a conversation with others. I was quite happy with Disqus for several months and then, boom! Spam! And not just a little spam. Tons of it. Horrible, disgusting spam. I had to go to comment moderation there. Very sad.

      It's just so infuriating to have one's work hijacked in order to promote something that one would never, ever recommend.

    Sorry to hear this news!! The same thing happened to me a few years ago on my blog, which also forced me to 'activate comment moderation' as well.

Poetry Sunday: Blackberry-Picking by Seamus Heaney

My mother was a farm wife and a prodigious canner. She canned fruit and vegetables from the garden, even occasionally meat. But the best thing that she canned, in my opinion, was blackberry jam. Even as I type those words my mouth waters!  Of course, before she could make that jam, somebody had to pick the blackberries. And that somebody was quite often named Dorothy. I think Seamus Heaney might have spent some time among the briars plucking those delicious black fruits as well, so he would have known that "Once off the bush the fruit fermented, the sweet flesh would turn sour." Poetry Sunday: Hymn for the Hurting by Amanda Gorman

You probably remember poet Amanda Gorman from her appearance at the inauguration of President Biden. She read her poem "The Hill We Climb" on that occasion. After the senseless slaughter in Uvalde this week, she was inspired to write another poem which was published in The New York Times.
