Both of her daughters became doctors, in turn. She died in 1976 at age 71 so she might have gone to medical school in the 1930's(?) I can't imagine what she went through, in medical school and beyond. This book would interest me.Alanahttps://ramblinwitham.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3560838335414244511.post-44226823358848976492022-06-23T15:04:04.103-05:002022-06-23T15:04:04.103-05:00Her depiction of that period was much as I remembe...Her depiction of that period was much as I remember it.Dorothy Bordershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12441731296027227394noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3560838335414244511.post-29730056909502098652022-06-23T14:27:03.374-05:002022-06-23T14:27:03.374-05:00I'm looking forward to reading this one. Garmus seems to have tapped into this era & frustration in her novel in a clever way. I hope it will be good. thecuecardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08870323589682197091noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3560838335414244511.post-11964041557933560482022-06-23T11:31:00.238-05:002022-06-23T11:31:00.238-05:00I'm quite sure that girls and young women toda...I'm quite sure that girls and young women today really don't understand the sexism that was endured and had to be overcome by their foremothers. One of the great things about being married to Miriam is that she is intelligent, lively, witty and well able to make her case in a discussion. That makes a marriage interesting and I can't imagine why everyone wouldn't welcome that. David M. How many talented women didn't have her resolve and simply "went with the flow?" In some jurisdictions we seem to be going backwards. David M.
