One of the things we talked about in our discussion last week of Out of Eden was that often native species are unable to adapt quickly when invasive species begin to dominate. Maybe right whales are adapting to changing conditions by having more babies. That's a good thought.

It's worrisome to think about California and drought. So many bad things have been brought about by drought.Deb Nance at Readerbuzzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12128529491888701996noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3560838335414244511.post-84152343825475273082021-04-10T10:45:48.946-05:002021-04-10T10:45:48.946-05:00It's rather appalling that they were ever remo...It's rather appalling that they were ever removed from endangered status, considering the compromised environment in which they live and all the dangers it presents.Dorothy Bordershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12441731296027227394noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3560838335414244511.post-71317431976610098212021-04-10T10:39:00.468-05:002021-04-10T10:39:00.468-05:00I do hope the manatees will be placed back on the ...I do hope the manatees will be placed back on the correct list. It was not lost on me in 2018 when I saw Swift Parrots at Adventure Bay in Tasmania that they were so critically endangered that within a few years they may no longer be with us. It would be heartbreaking to lose this attractive little parrot - and not because it is attractive to human eyes. We are losing so much biodiversity it is both sad and terrifying. David M.
