They could be drowning in the rising seawater or roasting in 130 degree temperatures and they would still deny it.Dorothy Bordershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12441731296027227394noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3560838335414244511.post-61453441427826736852021-10-03T12:26:23.949-05:002021-10-03T12:26:23.949-05:00doubt*doubt*The Butterfly Readerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13218064101468042347noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3560838335414244511.post-81737193604929452202021-10-03T12:26:03.996-05:002021-10-03T12:26:03.996-05:00So much going on... and some still dent what is bl...So much going on... and some still dent what is blatantly in front of us! My granddaughter showed me a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIoQGs8lvxk:> video of ferocious river otters in the Amazon a month or so ago. I've always thought otters were playful, but although they don't usually attack humans, they are capable of ferocious action against predators. jenclairhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06046532245054911248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3560838335414244511.post-88844140085709396362021-10-02T10:50:54.623-05:002021-10-02T10:50:54.623-05:00I think you may be on to something!I think you may be on to something!Dorothy Bordershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12441731296027227394noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3560838335414244511.post-39662876443082484122021-10-02T10:41:20.344-05:002021-10-02T10:41:20.344-05:00i sincerely empathize with Alaskan otters... mayb...i sincerely empathize with Alaskan otters... maybe they're smarter than we thought...mudpuddlehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16647084124715892324noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3560838335414244511.post-76100899150208996282021-10-02T09:59:44.401-05:002021-10-02T09:59:44.401-05:00When the Arkansas sightings occurred, we went to a...When the Arkansas sightings occurred, we went to a lecture in Houston by a Cornell professor who was very excited about them and was absolutely certain that they had been correct in their identification. I left the lecture full of hope but as months and then years went by and there was no further definitive information, it seemed likely that the experienced birders had been wrong in their assessment. I still have faint hope that the bird might exist somewhere in some forgotten southern swamp, but I admit my hope is firmly based on wishful thinking. I held out hope that the Ivory-billed Woodpecker was still out there somewhere.

The ten city projects that are helping bring nature to the city give me a lot of hope. Most of these are easily replicable. The mention of the Sea Otters attacking humans and their pets gave me a bit of a chuckle. They are probably just fed up with us! And they have every right to be given the way we have treated them. I have always wondered what environmental effects all the fire retardants dumped on the landscape will have (that's an awkward sentence!). I guess we are about to find out, but I guarantee you it won't be good.David M. Gascoigne,https://www.blogger.com/profile/17229638811027153569noreply@blogger.com
